The US-based Leda Systems, run by a former Armenian citizen Vahram Muradian and the German Cadence company signed today an agreement on securing a $25 million worth software package for the department of microelectronic systems of the Yerevan Engineering University.
The department, established with the assistance of Leda Systems, prepares specialists in soft- and hardware designing. Muradian said his company was planning to invest $1 million annually for research and design works in the Univeristy’s department.
Muradian said that under the signed agreement the German company will provide a $20 million worth analogue and digital design program license and his company will secure $5 million facilities and devices. The electronics department now has 30 students and their number is expected to double soon.
