Armenian software, presented at the exposition of telecommunications and
computer technologies CeBIT 2002, recently held in Hannover, interested a
number of foreign companies. As the executive director of the “Union of
information technologies enterprises” (UITE) Artem Baghdasarian informed an
ARMINFO correspondent, with the support of the Union the companies
“Algorithm-Service”, “Migma” and “Link” presented their production at the
CeBIT. Thus, the “Algorithm-Service” presented over 50 training programs,
envisioned, in particular, for teaching foreign languages and products of
“Microsoft”, which interested many visitors of the exhibition. Moreover, a
number of companies expressed interest in cooperation with the
“Algorithm-Service”. A number of software of the company “Migma”, concerning
the project and hotel business management also provoked an interest. Besides,
the “Migma” presented a program on working out of three-dimensional graphics.
The company “Link” presented the program “Bookkeeping” at the exposition. It
is able to work by western and Armenian bookkeeping standards. This programs
is being used in Armenia now. Touching upon the issue on the quality of
Armenian software, Artem Baghdasarian pointed out that programs are
implemented very correctly and allow net using, which not all the foreign
analogues have it. Speaking about the UITE’s activity at the exposition,
Baghdasarian informed that the “Union” held a number of meetings with
analogous organizations of many countries of the world. These contacts are
directed to expansion of relations, providing with information about the
IT-industry of Armenia in order to increase the outsourcing in the country.
According to the data of the World Bank, annually the volumes of “offshore
software” in Armenia make $15-20 mln.
