Yaklasik iki ay once Kudus Patrigi Torkom II Hazretleri ve Turkiye Ermenileri Patrigi Mesrob II Hazretleri tarafindan talep edilen bir zirve toplantisini degerlendiren Tum Ermeniler Katolikosu Karekin II Hazretleri hiyerarsik diger iki makamin patriklerini Ecmiyadzin’e davet etmisti.
Kadasetli Patrikler, Ecmiyadzin’deki Katolikosluga gitmek uzere 26 Temmuz’da Istanbul’dan hareket ettiler. Gorusmeler 27 Temmuz – 1 Agustos tarihleri arasinda, Pyuragan’daki Katolikosluk yazliginda gerceklesti.
Kilisemizin uc ruhani onderleri, Ermeni Kilisesi’ni ilgilendiren sorunlar hakkinda gorusup, bu sorunlarin cozumu icin karsilikli fikir alisverisinde bulunup kendi goruslerini ifade ettiler. Gorusmeler esnasinda ayrica 1700. Yil kutlamalari, Miron yaginin kutsanmasi, Papa Jean Paul II Hazretlerinin ziyareti gibi konular hakkinda fikir alisverisinde bulunuldu. Ermenistan’daki bolgesel episkoposlari, yardimci episkoposlar ve Yuksek Ruhani Kurul uyeleri ile de gayri resmi gorusmelerde bulunan Kudus ve Istanbul Patrikleri, Ermenistan Cumhuriyeti Diyanet Isleri Baskani Razmik Margosyan ile de gorustuler.
Karsilikli anlasma ve isbirligi saglanmasina olanak taniyan zirvenin sonunda Kadasetli Patrikler memnuniyetle Katolikos Karekin II Hazretlerine veda edip, 3 Agustos tarihinde Ecmiyadzin’den ayrildilar.
The Armenian Patriarchs of Jerusalem and Istanbul expressed satisfaction about their recent meeting with the Catholicos of All Armenians.
In response to the wishes of Their Beatitudes Torkom II of Jerusalem and Mesrob II of Istanbul and all Turkey, His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II of All Armenians invited the heads of the two Patriarchal Sees of the Armenian Church to the Mother See of Etchmiadzin for consultations.
The Church hierarchs discussed a range of issues during the three-day summit, which was held at the patriarchal summerhouse in Piurakan, Armenia, from July 27 to August 1.
His Holiness and Their Beatitudes examined a number of unresolved problems in the Armenian Church, exchanged opinions, and suggested solutions. They also discussed matters pertaining to the 1700th anniversary celebrations, the Blessing of the Holy Muron, the consecration of the new St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Yerevan, the visit of His Holiness Pope John Paul II to Armenia and related issues.
The three Hierarchs had unofficial meetings with diocesan prelates and bishops serving in Armenia, as well as the present members of the Supreme Spiritual Council. The two Patriarchs met also with the Chairman of the State Religious Affairs Committee, Mr. Razmik Margossian.
At the conclusion of the consultations, which paved the way for further cooperation and mutual understanding, the two Patriarchs bid farewell to His Holiness the Catholicos and left the Mother See on August 3.
