1700th Anniversary Pilgrimage to Caesarea and Antioch

The Chancellor of the Armenian Patriarchate announced today the schedule of the historic pilgrimage to Kayseri, Iskenderun and Vakifkoy on Musadagh, organized on the 1700 Jubilee of the Armenian Church. This Jubilee Pilgrimage will be led personally by His Beatitude Mesrob II, Armenian Patriarch of Istanbul and All Turkey, accompanied by two bishops and a large group of hieromonks, priests and deacons.

KAYSERI: On Friday, 8 June, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church by His Grace Archbishop Khajag Barsamian of New York.

ISKENDERUN: On Saturday morning, 9 June, the Patriarch will consecrate and reopen the Armenian Church of the Holy Forty Martyrs of Sebastea in Iskenderun, which had been damaged by the Osmaniye earthquake one and a half years ago. Patriarchal Vicar General, His Grace Archbishop Shahan Sivaciyan will celebrate the Divine Liturgy.

VAKIFLI: On Sunday, June 10, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the Church of the Holy Mother-of-God in the Vakifli village on Musadagh by the Grand Ecclesiarch of the Patriarchal See, His Grace Bishop Aram Ateshian. A daylong Armenian festival will follow in the village celebrating the Jubilee of the Armenian Church.

The arrangements for the June 7 – 11 pilgrimage have been made by Armenian travel agencies in Istanbul, with prices ranging between US$ 110 and US$ 250, including transportation from Istanbul and back, bed & breakfast and guiding. For more information the following travel agents may be contacted:
