TurkishDailyNews told that California’s state Senate unanimously approved a resolution on Thursday designating April 24 as California Day of Remembrance for the “so-called” Armenian Genocide, the Anatolia news agency reported.
The resolution asks the U.S. Congress to join in commemorating the period. The U.S. House of Representatives shelved a resolution recognizing the so-called Armenian genocide last year after former President Bill Clinton warned it could seriously damage relations with Turkey.
In related news, Armenian National Unity Party Chairman Artases Geghamian said on Friday he was afraid of a possible Turkish, Georgian and Azeri alliance against Armenia.
He also claimed that Azerbaijan has started to fallow an aggressive policy towards Armenia in recent days and showed Azerbaijan’s latest behavior as evidence that a possible ally exists.
