The Mekhitarian Monastery has released the second volume of “Armenian Miniature Paintings” on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity. The first volume was published by the monastery in 1965. This second volume,
after years of research, was long-awaited by scientific circles around the world and experts involved with Armenian studies. The miniature paintings contained in the book are part of the vast collection of manuscripts at the Mekhitarian Monastery in Venice, Italy. The book contains 117 reproductions from the 12th – 18th centuries. The preface has been prepared in four languages: Armenian, French, English and Italian. Most of the research for the
book was conducted by the late Rev. Father Boghos Ananian.
