Patriarch Received Israeli Diplomat

His Beatitude Mesrob II, Armenian Patriarch of Istanbul and all Turkey, received in his temporary quarters in Kumkapi, the first courtesy visit of the newly appointed Israeli Consul General in Istanbul, Amira Arnon. Ms Arnon presented His Beatitude with a beautiful icon of the Holy Mother and Child produced in Bethlehem, and with the compliments of the Israeli Consulate General, she expressed her readiness to continue the good relations with the Armenian Patriarchate. His Beatitude welcomed Ms Arnon
and wished her a good tenure in this historic city. The Patriarch informed the Consul General that the Holy Land, especially the holy sites in Jerusalem, have always been the first place where Istanbul Armenians would wish to visit for pilgrimage. The Patriarch also expressed his sorrow and concern for the tragic events that are occurring in the Holy Land, as the death toll rises, as a consequence of the Israeli-Palestinian unrest. Ms Arnon was accompanied by her assistant Ms Zali de Toledo.
