On November 13, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
The ministers discussed the progress made in implementing the Statement by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and President of the Russian Federation dated November 9, 2020, including the tasks related to the deployment of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the area of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and provisions for effective execution of their mandate.
Sergey Lavrov informed his counterpart in detail on the plans of the Interdepartmental Humanitarian Response Centre set up pursuant to the presidential executive order of November 13.
The foreign ministers underscored the importance of establishing cooperation with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, UNESCO, UN Development Programme, International Committee of the Red Cross, and other multilateral organisations to alleviate the situation of the civilian population in the conflict area and preserve religious and cultural sites.
