Armenia is grateful to the European Union for the support it has shown in the fight against COVID-19. This is what Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Avet Adonts said during today’s discussion on the draft of the 2021 State Budget held as part of the joint session of the Standing Committees on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and on European Integration of the National Assembly of Armenia. According to him, the EU has provided a total of EUR 98,500,000 to Armenia for the fight against the coronavirus. Some of the funds have been used to restructure programs, and some funds have been used for implementation of new projects.
“Armenia is thankful to the EU and its member states for their rapid responses. In this case, it concerns cooperation in the healthcare sector. Every now and then, groups of doctors of EU member states visit Armenia for four weeks and provide assistance to and share experience with Armenian doctors and nurses,” the deputy minister stated.
