Ara Shirinyan got three votes from the five-member commission, Mesrop Movsisyan and Tigran Hakobyan received one vote each.
From 1996 to 2004 Shirinyan was responsible for filmmaking at Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.
He founded the “Versus” filmmaking studio in 1999.
Ara Shirinyan has been working as filmmaker at Shoghakat TV since 2004.
