UITE President: IT giants’ leaders to arrive in Armenia within WCIT

The leaders of world IT giants will arrive in Armenia within the World Information Technology Congress (WCIT), to be held in Yerevan on October 6-9, President of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) Alexander Yesayan told reporters on Thursday.

Armenia will host 2500 visitors from different countries of the world, including Google, Amazon, Facebook, Dell, HP, Intel, Apple.

The Armenian side has also reached an agreement with the organizers of the Taipei international computer exhibition Computex to hold a joint exhibition here in Armenia with the participation of Taiwanese IT companies, including Asus, Acer, TSMC, as well as  Russian and US companies’ representatives.

“Within the WCIT, it is important for Armenia to show its IT potential in order to attract investments, as well as to demonstrate the level of IT education here in Armenia, since the world giants are primarily interested not only in the number of Armenian IT specialists, but how much their number grows every year,” Yesayan added.
