Yerevan hosting unique book festival on 1-2 December

The 2nd edition of Yerevan Book Fest will kick off at the AGBU (Armenian General Benevolent Union) Yerevan headquarters on 1 December.

The two-day festival program features book exhibition-fairs in participation of Armenian publishing houses, presentation of various books, readings and concerts.

Edit Print publishing house will also take part in the Yerevan Book Fest under the slogan ‘The Best for Armenian Readership’, it said in a statement.

The house will present the books published by Edit Print during recent years, including the Armenian versions of the works by Erich Maria Remarque, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, John Green, Honoré de Balzac and other prominent writers.

Edit Print will also present American author William Rempel’s “The Gambler: How Penniless Dropout Kirk Kerkorian Became the Greatest Deal Maker in Capitalist History”, which has already become a bestseller in Armenia, and “Armenian Velvet Revolution” by political scientist Stepan Grigoryan.

The major part of the books to be presented by Edit Print have been published by the house this year.

The presentation of “The Citizen of the Two Worlds” by contemporary Armenian writer, publicist, member of the Writers’ Union of Armenia Eduard Khachikyan is also scheduled during the book festival.

Khachikyan’s story collection not only reflects on the Artsakh Liberation War, but also the dark pages of the turmoil of 1990s, the unpredictable human destinies, the heroes’ emotions and struggles and the hardships they were forces to experience.

The Yerevan Book Fest will officially close on 2 December with an award ceremony in the Prose and Poetry nominations.
