On October 13, 2018, The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, and The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister responsible for La Francophonie, paid a visit to the spiritual center of all Armenians – Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and met His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.
On October 9, 2018, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate, accompanied by Mr. Ohan Ohanessian, Chair of the Diocesan Council, traveled to Armenia to partake in events organized on the occasion of the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie, and the celebration of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan, the Capital of Armenia.
