Aznavour Center in Yerevan opens condolence book

A book of condolence has opened today at the Aznavour Center in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, as a tribute to the memory of world-renowned French-Armenian singer, co-founder of the Aznavour Foundation, National Hero of Armenia Charles Aznavour.

Political, social and cultural figures are laying flowers outside the center in memory of the great chansonnier.

Armenia will declare Aznavour’s funeral day as a national day of mourning, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Monday.

The legendary singer passed away on 1 October in his home in Alpilles, southeastern France, at the age of 94.
