Young Armenian wrestlers bag two silver medals at World C’ships

Armenian Greco-Roman wrestlers have snatched two silver medals at the 2018 Junior World Championships underway in Trnava, Slovakia.

Tigran Minasyan (55 kg) and David Ovasapyan (130 kg) both lost their bouts at the finals to take the second spot, the Armenian National Olympic Committee told Panorama.am.

Another young Armenian wrestler Malkhaz Amoyan (67 kg) has shown strong performances at the initial rounds, beating his opponents from Norway, Ukraine, Brazil and Turkey.

He is set to face Uzbek Mahmud Bakhshiloyev in a fight for gold on Wednesday evening.
