Number of divorces increased in Armenia in the first half of 2018, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Committee.
The country had a rate of 282 divorces per 1,000 marriages from January to June this year, against the 269 divorce cases of the same period of 2017.
Overall, 6802 marriages were registered in Armenia in the first half-year, with February seeing the utmost marriages, which was most likely linked with such famous holidays as Saint Sarkis and Valentine’s Day.
According to the statistics, divorces totalled to 1915 in the reporting period, with the greatest number recorded in March.
