On August 3, 2014, the Islamic State (IS) launched an organized attack against the Yazidi community. The genocide which has been recognized by the United Nations led to the abduction and massacre of thousands of Yazidi civilians. More than 3 thousand Yazidis are missing today. More than 3 hundred thousand Yazidis are displaced and continue to suffer.
