The main message of the speeches by Armenian delegates at the 51st Plenary Session of the General Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation organization (BSEC) has been that Armenia is against turning BSEC into a politicized body and a tool to bring forward preconditions by any member state, Deputy Speaker of Armenian National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov stated on Tuesday at a press conference.
In Sharmazanov’s words, the organization is an economic structure, and Armenia is for cooperation with all member states.
“We have voiced the issues of Armenia’s blockade by Turkey, deeming it as unacceptable. Separate meetings were held with delegations of Russia, Moldova, and Greece that were generally constructive,” Sharmazanov summed up the activity of Armenia’s delegation.
He next reminded that the regular session of the Assembly will be held in Yerevan, as the country has taken over the PABSEC Presidency.
“I am hopeful delegations of all member states will partake at the Yerevan session, including from Azerbaijan and Turkey. We are committed to receive them and work with honor,” concluded the vice president of the parliament.
