ECHR communicates case of Armenian soldiers’ killing in Azeri attack near Chinari village – advocate

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) communicated the case concerning the armed conflict near Chinari village in the northeastern Armenian province of Tavush, resulting in the death of three Armenian soldiers, advocate Ara Ghazaryan said in a Facebook post.

“This is a new context. If the cases of 2016 April war referred to the armed conflict between Azerbaijan and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), this case concerned the armed conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia where Armenian soldiers were killed in the territory of Armenia following an attack by Azeri soldiers,” he said.

The case was represented before the court by Ara Ghazaryan and Artak Zeynalyan.

Two Armenian privates and an officer were killed while being on duty at the military position “Bitlis” in an Azerbaijani attack near Chinari village in December 2016.

CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha issued a statement on the sabotage infiltration attempted by the Azerbaijani forces, considering it a “provocation”.
