#MyArmenianLegacy

Last year’s centennial observance of the Armenian Genocide affirmed the importance of the memory of the Armenian Genocide as a unifying and identifying factor for Armenian-Americans across the country. Even after 100 years, the generation of 1915, and the legacy they passed down, remain deeply meaningful to our people.  As the descendants of survivors, we are inspired by the spiritual foundation their example provides for future action. Now, a year after the centennial observance, the Eastern Diocese invites Armenian-Americans from different walks of life to share their stories of inheritance, pride, and personal history with other Armenians and with the broader American society.

To this end, the Eastern Diocese is launching the #MyArmenianLegacy social media campaign. The conversation begins with a simple question—What is your legacy? What is the legacy you have inherited? How valuable is it to your daily life? What is the legacy you wish to build and leave behind?
In the inaugural video of this campaign, well-known Armenian-Americans discuss how the legacy of the generation of 1915 inspired or affects them in their professional endeavors. Alongside these voices will be “Your Stories”: stories submitted by viewers across the country, reflecting on the themes of legacy, memory, and simple pride in their Armenian heritage.
We invite you to join us in conversation, and help us spread the word about the #MyArmenianLegacy campaign.
