USC News

Dear Friends, April was an eventful month with unprecedented global attention and activity related to the Armenian Genocide and the rich history of Armenians. USC Institute of Armenian Studies hosted a film series at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, which showcased award-winning documentaries and shorts by filmmakers from Armenia and Turkey whose work collectively featured more than 20 ancient Armenian cities. As the centennial programming continues through 2015, the Institute remains dedicated to documenting global activity including conferences, publications, and events on YEAR100.org.

In mid-May, Prof. Richard Antaramian, the Turpanjian Early Career Chair in Contemporary Armenian Studies at USC Dornsife,  will teach an introduction to the Diaspora of Southern California — a laboratory for studying the various waves of migrations, and their interaction, something that is unique to the Southern California community.
Lastly, in case you did not see USC Institute of Armenian Studies in various southland media, check these out.  The reactions were great. We’d love to hear yours, too.
