Leader Of French Diocese Of Armenian Apostolic Church Resigns

Armenpress reports that the primate of the French Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Norvan Zakaryan has submitted his resignation to the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. Armenpress reports referring to Nouvelles d`Armenie that the resignation of Archbishop Norvan Zakaryan has been received by Holy Etchmiadzin on July 1. The term of Archbishop Norvan Zakaryan would expire in 2014.

One of the members of the parish council of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Paris refused to comment on the resignation of Archbishop Norvan Zakaryan. Archbishop Norvan Zakaryan took on the leadership of the French diocese in 2007.

Note that serious issues occurred in the French diocese, especially in Nice, where in 2012 the Diocese deprived the the Church of Nice of being called Apostolic.
