Diocesan Primate Archbishop Khajag Barsamian traveled to Jerusalem this week to attend a meeting of the St. James Brotherhood, as it prepares to hold an election for a new Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem.
Archbishop Aris Shirvanian, the Locum Tenens of the Armenian Patriarchate, has been leading the effort to organize the patriarchal election which will choose a successor to the late Archbishop Torkom Manoogian, who passed away in October.
