Archbishop Manoogian (1919-2012). The 40th-day requiem service, or karasoonk, in memory of His Beatitude Archbishop Torkom Manoogian, the late 96th Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, and long-serving former Primate of the Eastern Diocese, will be held at parishes across the Diocese on Sunday, December 2.
At St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in New York, the Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian will celebrate the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The requiem service will follow.
Textual, photographic, and video resources on the life and ministry of Patriarch Torkom Manoogian are available on the Diocesan website, www.armenianchurch-ed.net. The Diocese is planning to mark the one-year anniversary of his passing with a special commemoration in 2013.
