AFFMA PRESENTS “MIDSUMMER NIGHT SOCIAL” FRIDAY, AUGUST 12

Los Angeles, CA – On Friday, August 12, 2011, Arpa Foundation for Film, Music & Art (AFFMA) presents Midsummer Night Social – Images, Hors D’Oeuvres, Melodies, and Cocktails showcasing photographic works by Eric Nazarian and Don Q. Hannah.
The exhibit will be held at the Natural Mind Salon and Gallery in the trendy Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Photographs of a culturally rich and mature Armenia, as well as images taken with a modern perspective will adorn the gallery’s walls. The evening will include music, appetizers and cocktails sponsored by PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur. The luxurious venue will also host vendors showcasing stylish fashion items such as jewelry, eyewear, perfumes, and costume jewelry.
The featured photographers include Don Q. Hannah, a Los Angeles-based filmmaker, musician and photographer. Hannah’s photography has appeared in Los Angeles trades and such international publications as Yerevan Magazine. The AFFMA show is his second major photography exhibit in Los Angeles. Titled “Morphic Fields”, the collection is “a vivid and evocative exploration that departs from routine awareness, revealing a vibrant and compelling augmentation divergent from literal photographic form,” says Hannah. To view a sample of his photography, visit www.donhannah.com.
Also featured in the show is award-winning filmmaker, photojournalist and longtime AFFMA affiliate, Eric Nazarian.  In 2007, “The Blue Hour,” his first feature film as writer-director, premiered at the festival, garnering awards in Europe, Armenia and the U.S.  He is the recipient of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Nicholl Fellowship and a graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.  Most recently, Nazarian completed his film, “Bolis.” Nazarian’s photographic work has been published in MovieMaker, Written By, Ararat Quarterly, AIM and The Armenian Reporter.

PAMA® Liqueur returns in 2011 as an AFFMA sponsor. Made with all-natural pomegranate juice, premium vodka and a touch of imported tequila, PAMA is used to create a highly mixable range of cocktails such as PAMA and Champagne, PAMA Cosmo and the PAMA Mojito. No fruit compares to the pomegranate. The deep crimson color; the dense pulpy flesh; the rich red juice; even the time of year when it ripens – all of these singular characteristics, along with the tales of mystery and romance woven around it, make the pomegranate rare and unequalled. The pomegranate has long been revered throughout history as a symbol of health, fertility, and rebirth. It is believed that the pomegranate may have been the “apple” in the Garden of Eden. Ancient Greeks believed it was a symbol of love and war. Experience the endless PAMAbilities with PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur. www.pamaliqueur.com
