MINIMAL WAGES IN ARMENIA TO TOTAL 20,000 AMD ON JAN 1 2007

Yerevan, November 27. ArmInfo. Starting from January 1 2007, the minimal wages in Armenia will total 20,000 AMD, an increase as against 2006 will make up 5,000 AMD.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Aghvan Vardanyan stated in the Parliament that the minimal wages will rise by 5,000 AMD within the coming 3 years to 30,000 AMD in 2009. This process may be accelerated subject to the existence of necessary funds, he said. The state budget envisages a total of 505 million drams for settlement of the given problem. Some 7500 employees will be involved into the given program in total.
