ARMENIAN PRESIDENT TO PAY STATE VISIT TO CYPRUS

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS: President Robert Kocharian is flying November 22 to Cyprus for a four-day state visit, his press office said. It said the main goal of the visit is to strengthen inter-governmental ties between the two countries, outline priorities for economic cooperation and exchange views on a set of issues.
While in Cyprus Kocharian will be received by Cyprus president Tasos Papadopulos. The two presidents will also take part in the enlarged bilateral talks and then they will take journalists’ questions at a joint news conference.
Kocharian is also scheduled to meet with the chairman of the Cyprus parliament Demetris Khristofias, Archbishop of Cyprus Khrisostomos II and the mayor of Nicosia. The Armenian president will also visit the Saint Virgin Church of Nicosia and lay flowers to a monument commemorating the victims of the Armenian genocide. He will also talk to representatives of the Armenian community.
Kocharian then will meet the students of the Armenian Narek college and visit the town of Larnaka to attend a foundation laying ceremony of a monument to Armenian genocide victims.
