USA GOVERNMENT DONATES IT EQUIPMENT AND OFFICE FURNITURE TO BORDER GUARD TRAINING CENTER

YEREVAN, AUGUST 22, ARMENPRESS: The U.S. embassy in Armenia donated today IT equipment and office furniture to the Yerevan Training Center of the Border Control Detachment of Armenian Border Guard Troops.

The U.S. ambassador to Armenia John Evans and Deputy Commander of the Border Guard Forces of the National Security Service Romik Harutyunian signed the memo of donation. The equipment, which costs $25,000, will enable the Training Center to instruct border guard candidates and servicemen on modern procedures and the use of computer software.

The renovation of the training facility was also funded by the government of U.S. which invested over $130,000 in the project.

The embassy’s Export Control and Related Border Security Assistance Program began renovations one year ago with an initial investment of $84,000. Coupled with a previous donation of computer equipment, the total U.S. government contribution to the center is now more than $250,000.
