TONINO GUERRA IN YEREVAN: Susanna Haroutiunyan, Artistic Director of the “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival, stated that it is envisaged to hold “A Day in Europe” non-competition program that will include European films. She added that Tonino Guerra, Italian screenwriter, would be the honored guest of the festival and will arrive in Yerevan on July 13. He will participate in the award ceremony of the festival. Guerra, a close associate of Sergey Parajanov, will be awarded a prize for his contribution to the world cinematography, reported Azg daily.
CULTURE OF ETHNIC MINORITIES: Exhibition of painting and decorative-applied art of ethnic minorities of Armenia dedicated to the 15th anniversary of declaration of independence of the Republic of Armenia opened in Yerevan State Museum of Folk Arts.
Ten ethnic minorities of Armenia presented their culture at the exhibition. These included the Yezidi, Kurdish, Russian, Greek, Assyrian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Polish, Jewish and Georgian communities.
ARMENIAN FOLK MUSIC IN GERMANY: Duduk player Gevorg Dabaghyan and the “Shoghakn” chamber ensemble will tour to the German city of Koln, through July 10.
YEAR OF ARMENIA IN FRANCE: During joint press-conference with the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Vartan Oskanian held in Yerevan the Chairman of the France Culture organization Olivier Poivre d’Arvor told journalists the Year of Armenia in France will be opened by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries in September, reported by Arka news agency.
“Armenia is not an unknown country for France, however this event is a good opportunity for better acquaintance with Armenia and its Diaspora, localized not only in France but in other countries as well”, d’Arvor stated.
ANOTHER FESTIVAL: “Baze Days in Artsakh” Pan Armenian youth festival will be held in NKR on July 26- August 1.
