«KILIKIA» STARTED ITS NEW VOYAGE

The ceremony of departure of the Armenian ship “Kilikia” took place in the famous London port “St. Katharine’s Dock” on the Thames. RA Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the UK Vahe Gabrielyan made a speech. He mentioned that the day of departure May 28 was not chosen by chance. It symbolizes and will of the Armenians to realize his cherished dreams. He voiced confidence that the deeds of the “Kilikia” staff will be a model for everyone.

Baroness Caroline Cox, President of the Armenian-British multi-party Parliamentary group recited her poem dedicated to “Kilikia”. The national anthems of the RA and the UK sounded and the flags of the two countries were raised on the ship. Hundreds of people were present at the ceremony.

On May 25 TV channel BBC referred to “Kilikia” several times broadcasting a live program from the ship.

In connection with the arrival of the ship the London Tower Bridge had been opened.
