´COMPETITION OF YOUNG PIANISTS´ AFTER ARNO BABAJANYAN TO BE HELD IN ARMENIA

Yerevan, April 25. ArmInfo. An annual “Competition of Young Pianists” after Arno Babajanyan, a great Armenian composer, pianist and national artist of the USSR, is scheduled to be held from April 26 to May 20 in Armenia. The Armenian Ministry of Culture for Youth Affairs press-service informs ArmInfo.

Young pianists from Armenia, Nagorny Karabakh and Javakhq will compete. The winners will receive certificates and prize money. The Organization Committee has also prepared special prizes. The competition has been organized in Armenia since 1986. In addition, large-scale events are planned in Armenia and Russia for the current year on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of Arno Babajanyan, the Soviet classic.

One of the most important events will be the laying of a new Museum-House of Arno Babajanyan in Yerevan. Besides, streets will be named after the great composer in Moscow and Rostov-on-Don.
