Tomorrow at 07:00 AM the dead body of Indian student of the Yerevan State Medical University Prashant Anchalya aka Sandy will be taken to India in a zinc coffin. Today the Indian students, as well as the authorities of the University participated in the service for the dead with candles and flowers.
The act of complaint organized by the Indian students who were shocked by the death of their compatriot moved to the corridors of the University from the NA building. Persian and Syrian students joined them too. Let us remind you that Prashant Anchalya fell down from the sixth floor of the YSMU student hostel and died five minutes after reaching hospital.
There are several versions about the death of the student. The Prosecutor’s office is at present engaged in finding out the true reasons of his death. The Indian students held an act of complain near the NA building until midnight. They demanded the rector of the University to resign blaming her insulting them. But today, answering the question of “A1+” rector of the University Gohar Qjalyan refuted the information about insults, “It was them who insulted me. They came here with the whole group and insulted me. Let’s not speak about it. We are insults very sorry for what happened.”
According to Gohar Qjalyan, the boy jumped out of the window and not fell down. “It he fell, his head would be damaged. Forensic examination showed that his legs and feet were broken.” The rector supposes that this was suicide, perhaps in a situation of affect, “The previous night he returned how late from a night club. He quarreled with the warden of a hostel who did not want to let him in.” She also had information that the same day Prashant Anchalya quarreled with his roommate because of 150 US dollars.
Prashant’s friends do not accept that their friend has committed suicide, but they accept that he really quarreled with his roommate (the latter is Indian too – Ed.) because of 120 US dollars which Prashant either had stolen or owed to him.
«The roommate says he was not in the room when Prashant fell. We do not know if it is true or not. Some believe him, others do not. Perhaps he fell down during the quarrel when they pushed each other, » one of the students said who did not want to introduce himself.
The information about the behavior of the dead boy is contradictory. Some say he was a drug-addict and did not attend lessons, whereas others say he was a quiet and clever person and liked to play guitar.
Accepting the fact that they could not do anything to save the life of their friend, the Indian students do not exclude the possibility of saving him if the ambulance arrived in time. “If everyone knew that ambulance works so badly in Yerevan, they could have allowed us that take him to hospital by taxi.” According to the students, the ambulance arrived 50 minutes after their call, but the workers of the ambulance service claimed they reached the place of incident 20 minutes after the call.
By the way, the students are sure that their demand of the resignation of the rector will not be fulfilled, and other think “she will revenge on them later.” That’s why the Indian students will perhaps stop their hunger strike next week.
