Armenian music group “Armenian Navy Band” has been awarded prestigious award of British TV-radio Company BBC “World Music Award” in the nomination Audience award 2006. As the manager of the group in Armenia John Grigoryan said in the course of the press conference today this reward is the only one together with 10 others which are awarded according to the result of the voting of the audience. By means of the Internet more than 20 000 people gave preference to the group of eccentric musician Arto Tunjboyadgyan.
Arto was rewarded Planet award in London and; at the award ceremony he performed a piece of music on the buller – an instrument specially invented for him by Armen Blbulyan, and also performed his usual trick with bottles.
The avant-garde folk group’s “visiting card”, Arto, was not present at the conference today. As his colleagues informed the musician is on a holiday in New York with his family. And of course he is composing music. Yet, after April 20 Tunjboyadgyan is returning back to Yerevan, and he is not alone. His 19-years-old son Sedrak is going to appear on stage of the club with his rap-group. /Panorama.am/
