In the fifth round of the Linares Chess Super tournament Armenian Grand Master Levon Aronyan beat the leader of the tournament Peter Svidler. After this win Levon has 3 points and occupies the third place. Svidler who is currently in the second place has 3.5 points.
Now the leader of the tournament is Peter Leko who has 4 points. Veselin Topalov finally managed to celebrate a win beating Vasilij Ivanchuk.
After this round Levon Aronyan has a real chance to win. This is the second time he has participated in such a major tournament the prize fund of which is 380 thousand EU, and seven of the eight participants have a reputation of more than 2700.
By the way, in the 6th round Aronyan will play with Leko. The Armenian chess play will play with white draughts.
