Media Accord With Armenia

Pendar.net : memorandum of understanding on media cooperation was signed between Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and Armenian Radio and Television Council, reported ILNA.

Before signing the accord, the visiting Armenian delegation headed by Artashess Tumanian, chief of that country’s Presidential Office and head of Iran-Armenian Economic Cooperation Commission, inspected various sections of IRIB and conferred with its director, Ezzatollah Zarghami.

At the meeting, Zarghami referred to the favorable ties between Tehran and Yerevan ties and said that the two nations have immense potential for expanding ties in the cultural and media sectors.

Noting that the capacity for interactions between the two countries is much more than what is reflected by two country’s media, he hoped that the accord on media cooperation will help both states to promote friendly ties.

“The age-old ties between the two nations can serve as the firmest backbone of bonds in all the fields,“ he noted.

For his part, Tumanian expressed pleasure over his visit to Iran and said that his country is willing to take advantage of IRIB’s facilities and capabilities.
