YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1. By the initiative of the President of the Football Federation of Armenia, Ruben Hayrapetian, on an extraordinary meeting of the Federation’s Executive Committee was considered the behavior of ‘Pyunik’ football club, Yerevan. Detailed explanations on the events in Moscow were represented. After that the President proposed excluding ‘Pyunik’ from the Armenian Football Championship. The members of the Committee voted against this proposition and declined it, taking into consideration the fact that ‘Pyunik’ will be no longer invited to the Cup of the Commonwealth.
It should be reminded that ‘Pyunik’ refused to play the semifinal game with ‘Neftchi’ (Azerbaijan), being dissatisfied with the terms of security provided by the Russian side.
