ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT TO ALLOCATE ADDITIONAL 50 MLN TO PREVENT BIRD FLU

YEREVAN, JANUARY 8. ARMINFO. The Armenian government is to allocate 50 million AMD shortly for bird flu preventive measures, Head of the State Veterinary Inspection of Armenia Grisha Bagyan told ARMINFO.

Besides, 23 million AMD were used for purchase of vaccine against bird flu. The measures were taken a month ago immediately after death of some wild birds in the area of the River Araks. 50,000 doses of vaccine for birds were purchased, another 551,000 doses are to be purchased from Russia shortly. G. Bagyan said no cases of the bird flu were registered in Armenia and there is no reason for panic.
