Question of Nagorno Karabakh settlement discussed in Brussels

The problem of Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement and its latest developments were discussed in Brussels on December 13 during a meeting of Ministers Group of Three Armenia-EU.

The Armenian delegation is headed by Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan, and the European delegation is led by Secretary General of the EU Council and EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana. Several other high officials participated in the meeting, including EU Representative in South Caucasus Bryan Fall, as a REGNUM correspondent was informed in the press office of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

Also on Tuesday, a meeting of Javier Solana and Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan took place. They discussed the question of regional conflicts settlement. At the Armenia-EU meeting, the parties discussed questions of power supply to Armenia, including the problems of Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, economic and political problems of the region, relations between Armenia and Turkey. Special attention has been paid to creation of the Armenian Program in the framework of the European New Neighborhood Policy. The parties declared their readiness to complete the creation of the program till first decade of 2006.

Speaking about the constitutional referendum in Armenia, the sides noted that it created additional possibilities in democracy development. They also noted that further steps must be taken to provide the transparency of the electoral system.
