Iranian-made wind power plant to become operational in Armenia tomorrow

TEHRAN, Dec. 4 (MNA) — Armenia’s wind power plant project being developed by Iran, is expected to commence operations tomorrow. Iranian Energy Minister Parviz Fattah and his Armenian counterpart, Armen Movsisyan will attend the opening ceremony.
In his visit to this Caucasus region republic, the Iranian minister will inspect a number of projects being developed by Iranian contractors, the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported on Sunday.

The Iranian energy minister is also planning to visit a number of high-ranking Armenian officials including President Robert Kocharian, Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian as well as the chief of presidential staff Artashes Tumanian.

Being the first project of its kind to be developed in this West Asian republic, the wind-operated power plant is expected to generate about 20,000 megawatts of electricity. Some 3,620,000 dollars has been invested in the novel project.
