ARMENIAN DELEGATION AT TUNISIA WSIS SUMMIT

TUNIS, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS: An Armenian delegation, headed by prime minister Margarian, participated today in the opening of the second phase of UN-organized World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS, welcomed by Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, President of Tunisia and UN Secretary General Koffi Anan.

In the first half of the day Margarian visited the pavilion of Intel company and discussed with its chief managers prospects for establishment of bilateral relations. Margarian suggested that Intel should carry out a pilot program for its wireless, Wi-Fi and WiMax technologies in Armenia which Margarian said could be instrumental in expanding Internet to regions.

The Armenian delegation also attended the official presentation of an Armenian multi-media project about the life and work of outstanding Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian that is selected as the winner in one of eight categories. Margarian also gave an interview to a local TV stations. In the evening the delegation will participate in the gala prize awarding ceremony.
