First Armenian Wind Farm to Be Launched by End of 2005

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ During his official visit to Iran November 14 Chief of Armenian President’s Administration, Chair of the Inter-Governmental Commission for Coordination of Armenian-Iranian Relations Artashes Tumanyan and the delegation lead by him met with Minister of Energy of Iran Parviz Fatah, Deputy Minister of Oil Industry Salehfiruz and Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safar, reported the Press Service of the Armenian President. In the course of the meeting with Parviz Fatah the parties noted with content that energy cooperation programs are being implemented in compliance with the schedule. Tumanyan and Natahi exchanged views over the course of the building of the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline. They also discussed prospects of energy cooperation programs. Armenian delegation member, Minister of Energy Armen Movsisyan stated the first wind farm with capacity 2.6 MW built in Lori region of Armenia with Iran’s assistance will be launched by the turn of the year. He invited the Iranian Minister of Energy to take part in the opening ceremony. The invitation was accepted with content.

During the meeting with Deputy Minister of Oil Industry Salehfiruz matters of construction of the gas pipeline and further cooperation in energy import was also considered. The same day the Armenian delegation met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for CIS and Asia Mehdi Safar. The parties exchanged views on bilateral an regional cooperation. Mehdi Safar assured the Iranian MFA will further promote efforts of development of cooperation between Armenia and Iran. Matters of organization of the sixth session of the Inter-Governmental Commission for Coordination of Armenian-Iranian Relations in 2006 were also discussed. The parties stressed the important role of the Armenian and Iranian MFAs in the cause of holding the session work at highest level.
