OSKANIAN AND MAMEDYAROV TO MEET IN LJUBLJANA

BAKU, NOVEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS: Azerbaijani foreign affairs minister Elmar Mamedyarov told journalists in Baku today that Armenia and Azerbaijan are going to intensify their efforts for the resolution of the Karabakh conflict beginning next year.

Mamedyarov said Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on another meeting of their foreign ministers in Ljubljana on 4-5 December 2005, but added that the format of the talks is still to be determined. “Perhaps, it will be a tete-a-tete meeting, which is not to be conducted as part of a gathering of the Foreign Ministers of OSCE member-countries,” Mamedyarov said, noting that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs will also participate in the talks.

Touching upon the continuation of the negotiation process, Mamedyarov noted that on Thursday the co-chairs delivered reports on the process of the peaceful resolution of the conflict at a meeting of the Permanent Council of the OSCE. He said also the co-chairs will visit the region in December.
