NATO won´t make Armenia choose between alliance, Russia

Yerevan, October 30 – NATO will not make Armenia choose between cooperation with the alliance and Russia, said Robert Simons, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative to the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

NATO is not competing with Russia in Armenia, because the alliance has very good relations with Russia and welcomes its partners having good relations with Russia too, Simons said at a roundtable on NATO- Armenian relations in Yerevan on Friday.

The alliance’s involvement in the South Caucasus is useful for maintaining peace and stability in the region, he said.
