On October 26, Uruguay Parliament unanimously passed a statement asking Turkey to cease blockade of Armenia and establish diplomatic relations with it.
“Regarding the contribution of the parliament in the affair of the Armenian Genocide recognition and its willingness to assist in reconciliation of two adjoining people – Armenian and Turkish, Uruguay Parliament joining the US and EU appeal to Turkey asking to cease blockade of Armenia and establish diplomatic relations between the two countries,” says the document.
According to “Radio of Armenia”, Uruguay parliament deputy ethnic Armenian Lillian Kesishyan expressed her satisfaction with this document. Next week she will visit Yerevan to celebrate the 15-year anniversary of Armenian Independence, informs “Noyan Tapan”.
