“The Russian military bases in Armenia fulfill their functions and I do not find it necessary to add their quantity”, said RA Armed Forces Main Headquarters head Yuri Baluevski during the press conference and added that not the quantity but the quality of the bases must be worked upon.
And the head of the RA Armed Forces Main Headquarters Michael Haroutyunyan informed that they have discussed more than 40 issues and signed concluding protocol, as well as a number of other documents.
Yuri Baluevski noted that RF finds the Armenian-Russian relations extremely important and follows their development. He informed that since September 1 the Armenian officers in Russia can get education free of charge.
There was also a question about the cooperation with NATO. «We must cooperate both with NATO and with its member countries. We organize joint trainings and learn many things from each other. It is better to organize joint trainings than to suspect each other of aggression», Yuri Baluevski said.
And Michael Haroutyunyan noted that the relations with NATO do not hinder the relations with other countries and organizations. «We have been and we will be the military ally of Russia. We will also cooperate with NATO realising different programs».
