Today the usual session of the Nuclear Energy Security Council took place in the Government Reception House. Issues about the power system of Armenia, especially those about nuclear power have been discussed.
Robert Kocharyan considered the steps taken towards the raising of the power independence and the security level of the country successful. He found the process of construction of small Hydro Electric power stations important and said that they will have an important role in the development of the power system of the country.
Referring to the Nuclear Power Station Robert Kocharyan mentioned that the country is realizing joint projects with the leading foreign companies of the field and international organizations in order to make the exploitation of the station safer.
Kocharyan also mentioned that the station has finally paid all the debts and this year paid for the nuclear fuel itself for the first time.
