YEREVAN BRANDY COMPANY TO INCREASE GRAPE PURCHASE

YEREVAN, MAY 23, ARMENPRESS: The French-owned Yerevan Brandy Company (YBC) has raised brandy production volumes from 1 million liters to 4 million over the six years when the plant has been run by Pernod Ricard. Ninety percent of the brandy is sold outside Armenia. YBC’s share in brandy exports makes more than 50 percent. YBC chief executive manager Herve Caroff told a news conference, convened to brief about a new packaging style assumed by the company and also on the occasion of Pernod Ricard’s 30-th anniversary that the Armenian brandy is sold mainly in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, where it is challenged by another Armenian company-Great Valley.
