POLISH AUTHORITIES WANT TO DEPORT 15-YEAR OLD ARMENIAN GIRL THOUGH HER FATHER HAS RESIDENTIAL PERMIT

YEREVAN, MARCH 24. ARMINFO. Polish authorities want to deport 15-year old Armenian girl Anna Bocholyan, despite the fact that her father Suren Bocholyan received residential permit, informs Polish newspaper.

According to the source, Anna studies at a Polish gymnasia. She cannot write and understands Armenian language badly. She has lived in Poland with her father since 1995 as her parents are divorced. Suren Bocholyan received residential permit two years ago and wanted to receive it for his daughter too, however, he was denied by Polish authorities.

They obliged Anna to leave the country within 7 days. S. Bocholyan rebels as Anna knows nobody in Armenia. Director of gymnasia Iolanta Libzik speaks well about Anna and expresses regret concerning Polish authorities’ decision. Representative of Helsinki Committee on Human Rights Magdalena rebels with the decision, too. The fact that the father (but not the mother illegally lived in Poland) is Anna’s guardian is the sufficient argument against the decision of her extradition, she noted.
