Noravank historical reservation presented to UNESCO for including it its list

YEREVAN (YERKIR) – The Noravank church reservation in the Vayots Dzor region has been presented to the UNESCO for consideration to include it in the World Cultural Heritage list, Armenpress reported.

As Deputy Culture Minister Gagik Giurjian said, presently, about 10 Armenian historical monuments, including Hagpat and Sanahin monasteries, Echmiadzin church and others, are on the UNESCO list.

After they are included in this list, they become widely known and are preserved according to international standards; they are also protected under the UNECSO conventions in war times, Giurjian added.

The Yerevan Blue Mosque has also been presented by Armenia for the inclusion in this list.
