Armenia will receive more natural gas from Russia in 2005. An agreement to that effect was signed today in Moscow by Alexander Miller, the chairman of board of directors of Russian Gazprom and Karen Karapetian, the chairman of Armenian-Russian natural gas operator Hayrusgazard.
The two men also discussed energy -related issues in view of Armenia’s growing economy with a special emphasis on further gasification. In 2005 Armenia is expected to consume 1.7 billion cubic meters of gas, almost four times less than it used to consume under the Soviets.
